Parc Frank Delmas is simply my favorite place in La Rochelle, it has been made to be consumed by its visitors as opposed to just admired as it is too often the case with parks in France. The children are free to kick a ball, climb trees, no one fears to be told off for touching a plant. A pure blast of sensations. I am never tired of visiting this place, running through its paths, laying in the grass, throwing boomerangs or whatever accessories Ben Ouai and Ananas would have damped in my hand bag. Old folks sit and chat hidden behind secluding bushes of rosemary. As the summer draws to an end we can even sample figs, pears, almonds… the sea in the meantime is the perfect side dish in the background…just beautiful!
